Acamar Films Limited, which owns the intellectual property and commercial rights to the children’s character Bing, has completed the establishment of a £15 million secured MTN programme, following the limit increase and restatement of its original £7.5 million programme. LGB Capital Markets acted as arranger.
The increase in note issuance capacity will initially be used to refinance £5 million of existing debt with Arbuthnot Latham.
Since 2009, Acamar has concentrated solely on Bing. Series 1-3 launched in the UK on CBeebies, between June 2014 and March 2015. Bing has received professional recognition through a BAFTA nomination in October 2014, a Writer’s Guild award in January 2015 and an International Emmy award in April 2016.
Today Bing is the most successful CBeebies show in BBC digital history. It is consistently the number one pre-school show on BBC iPlayer (with over 431 million download requests) in the UK and is also available on-demand on Amazon Prime. It is engaging with over 1.7 million Bing fans every month across major social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
