LGB Forms an Alliance with Smith Square Partners

We are excited to announce that LGB has entered in to an alliance with Smith Square Partners (www.smithsquarepartners.com).  Under the terms of the alliance we will now direct our clients seeking M&A and corporate advisory services to Smith Square, while Smith Square will introduce capital raising opportunities to us.  Angus Grierson, hitherto Managing Director of LGB Corporate Finance, has become a partner of Smith Square.  He has been joined by Andrew Hay, who has been appointed a Senior Advisor to the firm, and two colleagues, Michael Skerritt and Ryan Hayes.

Smith Square has a strong record of M&A advisory transactions involving quoted as well as private companies.  The alliance therefore represents an expansion of the corporate advisory services that we can offer to our clients.  It also results in a significant expansion of our business network.

The background to the alliance with Smith Square is a desire to create a business structure that is appropriate for a world much impacted by Covid-19.  While there is great demand for corporate advisory and capital raising services, it is necessary for financial sector firms to have a critical mass of business and expertise in their core activities and to operate on an appropriate cost base.  By working with Smith Square, we will be able to benefit from their experience and business platform, while directing our resources to the development of our debt and equity capital raising and investment services.
